Lets create awareness for
Liver Transplantation to fight the liver disease together.
The National Foundation For Liver Research (NFLR)is an initiative by Prof. Mohamed Rela who is the chairman and Managing Director of Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre, Chennai. The National Foundation For Liver Research was established in 2012 with an objective to promote scientific research in liver disease, improving public awareness about liver disease and organ donation and expending access to life saving liver surgery irrespective of their economic background.
Improving Access to
Life Saving Liver Surgery
Liver surgery is an expensive proposition and a significant number of needy patients cannot afford the cost of treatment in our country. We have identified two liver problems in which expert surgery can make a big difference in outcomes. NFLR proposes to identify children and adults, below poverty line who need these operations and cannot afford it and carry them out at a nominal cost or even for free if necessary. The two diseases identified for this program are,
- Biliary Atresia where early operation on infants diagnosed with the condition can completely cure the liver disease or significantly delay the need for transplantation.
- Hepatoblastoma, which is the most common liver tumor in children. Timely surgery can cure the majority of these children.
Let your Liver be Life for someone who is needy!

NFLR is one of the best liver related organization we`ve seen recently. They have consulted my nephew for their organ donation and research about the disease clearly. Also they arranged funds for his surgery and referred expert doctors. This is beyond the expectation from the organization.
