Improving Access to Life Saving Liver Surgery

Liver surgery is an expensive proposition and a significant number of needy patients cannot afford the cost of treatment in our country. We have identified two liver problems in which expert surgery can make a big difference in outcomes. NFLR proposes to identify children and adults, below poverty line who need these operations and cannot afford it and carry them out at a nominal cost or even for free if necessary. The two diseases identified for this program are,

BILIARY ATRESIA

Biliary Atresia where early operation on infants diagnosed with the condition can completely cure the liver disease or significantly delay the need for transplantation.

HEPATOBLASTOMA

Hepatoblastoma, which is the most common liver tumor in children. Timely surgery and medication can cure the majority of these children.
